About Terry Koger
He will provide a broad perspective of music specifically designed for each student. In addition to the basics of the instrument, Terry will teach note reading, musical notation, musical vocabulary, proper playing technique in addition to providing a creative atmosphere for the student to realize their unknown potential.
He offers instruction on saxophone and clarinet and jazz improvisation on any instrument. He is also well versed in Jazz History and Repertoire
He has a B.S. in Music Education from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland with additional studies from Peabody Conservatory, in Baltimore, Maryland and Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois. He is also a member of the Vince Evans Jazz Workshop where he continues to hone his skills in jazz piano, vocals, and improvisation.
He plays saxophone in his own jazz ensembles in the Baltimore/Washington area, The Muthafunkoholix, in addition to being a sideman for many local artists.
He looks forward to working with you and your child building a great foundation in the world of music.
