"Sometimes you have to play a long time to be able to play like yourself." ~ Miles Davis

About Me

Hi, my name is Ted Blohm and I am a school services representative at Music & Arts. I began my career at Music & Arts in 2011 and have worked in various locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including serving as the manager of the Doylestown, Plymouth Meeting, and Lawrence Park,PA locations.

I am a native of Northeast Philadelphia and I have been playing the trombone for twenty years and, in particular, the bass trombone for eleven years.  I earned my bachelor’s degree in music performance and a minor in music education from the University of the Arts in 2008, and I also received my masters degree in music education from UArts in 2010. My touring experience includes Russia, Finland, Czech Republic, and Poland with the Philadelphia Sinfonia. I have performed with great artists such as Sarah Chang, Jim McNeely, Bernie Dressel, John Fedchock, and many more. I am also the Jazz Band Driector at Archbishop Ryan High School in Northeast Philadelphia.  During the summer months I play with the Jersey Shore Pops based out of Cape May Court House NJ and the Summer Club Big Band based out of Cape May NJ. I also played in a “ska band” called On Display. We performed throughout the Tri-State area for five years. The band had been lucky enough to open for artists such as Jacks Mannequin, Ben Folds, Westbound Train, Big D and the Kids Table, and others. We put out a full-length album out called “Before the Curtain Call” and an EP called “Spotlight On Nothing”.  If you are looking for a wedding/cover band you can find me playing with BLT and the Unity Horn Section. On New Years day you can catch me playing the Mummers Parade with the WhoaPhat Brass band, a group made out of sixteen trombonists, three trumpeters, two sousaphones, and multiple percussionists.  In my spare time (which isn't much) I like to compose and arrange for my brass group "It's Always Brassy In Philadelphia"  I am a very active freelance Trombonist that plays all styles of music!

Local school districts that I help service are Moorestown, Cherry Hill, Delran, Delanco, Riverside, Cinnaminson, Wissahickon, Cheltenham, Pennsbury, and Philadelphia.
