About William Hewes

With a Bachelor of Music from Arizona State University, Mr. Hewes has been involved in performing or producing music for most of his life, beginning with piano lessons at age 8. He has performed as a vocalist, bassist, and keyboardist in a wide variety of settings, from weddings, parties, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, corporate functions, jazz combos, churches, and retirement communities. Within those retirement communities he has developed a wide variety of vocal repertoire from popular music from the 40s to the 90s, plus theater music and country music. He has also spent more than a decade teaching bass and guitar one-on-one in a music store.

Music is a very deep field of study. Some concepts are not quickly grasped; some things are only revealed through time, effort, and focus. The goal with any student is to help them find their path, whatever that may be, and give them the tools they need to solve problems and develop along that path. The study of music builds and reveals character, and affords the student a valuable outlet for self-expression.

Levels taught: Beginner, intermediate.
