About Zac

Zac Covington is a drummer and percussionist who found his love of rhythm from a very early age. He has been involved in some sort of musical activity since the day he was born. Zac first started out by singing, then played the trumpet, then the alto saxophone, then the french horn, then FINALLY landed on the drum set where he realized that the drum set the intersument for him. While jazz is his favorite style of music to play, listen to, and study, he has played and studied many different genres, from hip hop to Cuban music. Zac is studying under Thomas Taylor at UNCG and lives in Greensboro. He has played with many different artists around the area including: Aaron Matson Quintet/Nonet, Piedmont Triad Jazz Orchestra Septet/Big Band, Steve Haines, Gabe Dansereau, his own trio and quartet, Chad Eby, Reliably Bad, and many more.
