About Abel Santos

My name is Abel Santos, and I am the Brass Instructor at the Music & Arts in Palm Springs, Ca.  My main instrument is the (French) Horn, but I teach all brass instruments, ie Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, and instruments in between.  I've been teaching music in public schools, and private studios, namely my own, for the past 24 years.  I've taught in many different settings, frp, sp;p. tp ensemble settings.  I've had several students suceed in their own right, from solo awards, honor bands, and music scholarships for their colliege studies.  I've taught locally, regionally, and nationally, and internationally. and have taught from ages as young as 5 to 70+.  I started music early, playing piano at 3, and participating in middle school, high school and college band and music programs.  My teaching philosophy is more organic, as the student develops their own style.  At the .  beginning, fubdametals are important, but once a comfort level is set, I adapt to the learning capability of the student.
