Adam Chmaj is a saxophonist who has performed professionally for over 5 years. From coast to coast, from Seattle to New York. His love and aspiration for the saxophone is like no other. Jazz artists that he seeks to embody on the horn are Pete Christlieb, John Coltrane and Dexter Gordon. His love for classical saxophone stems from the playing of Timothy McAllister. His artistic qualites such as his joyous tone and technical facility of his playing have been recognized by numerous festival performances. Such as the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, Central Washington University's Windfest and North Bend's Jazz Walk. He has studied classical saxophone under the teachings of Dr. Adam Pelandini, where he has earned his Bachelors degree in Music Performance at CWU. For his jazz playing, he has been taught by artists such as Grace Kelly and Alexey Nikolaev. Adam performs and teaches in the two major genres of classical and jazz saxophone. He offers lesson for beginning, intermediate and advancing saxophone students.
