About Adrian Jackson
Get to know Adrian Jackson
Hailing from Austin Texas, Violist Adrian Jackson is a young professional performer, educator, and student. Adrian began studying music, initially on the violin, at the McCallum Fine Arts Academy in Austin, Texas Adrian discovered the viola when he was fifteen years old and one year later, attracted to the instrument’s rich and warm tone, devoted himself to the viola. Adrian Jackson is a Junior Viola performance major at the Eastman School of Music Studying under Professor George Taylor. Adrian has performed for and studied with esteemed musicians and teachers such as Jeff Irvine, Charles Castleman, and JoAnn Falletta.
As a performer, Adrian has performed as the Principal Violist of the Interlochen World Youth Symphony Orchestra, section violist in the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, and the winner of the 2018 Rising Stars competition. Adrian had attended esteemed festivals like the Interlochen Arts Camp, Texas Strings Camp, Castleman Quartet Program, and the Online Solo String Intensive workshop. Adrian is extremely proud to be the second recipient of the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra Diversity fellowship and excited to see the opportunities that come from it.
