About Aimee Castillo

I was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona, and grew up in a musical family. We each played and studied two instruments growing up. One was piano, the other we got to choose, and I chose violin. Music was a huge part of my life and obviously still is. I attended schools in Mesa and played in the various school orchestra and ensemble programs all throughout elementary, junior high and high school, mainly as Concertmaster.  Growing up I played in Metropolitan Youth Symphony (MYS), and Phoeniz Symphony Youth Orchestra (PSYO). I studied violin music performance on a full ride scholarship at Arizona StateUniversity. I played in the Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra. Since college, I have continued to play and perform around the valley in various orchestras and ensembles. I love to perform and I also love to teach! I have been teaching violin and viola for over 25 years. And cello for over 10 years. I am  also the proud mother of two wonderful and amazing teenagers.  We are living and loving life.
