Teaching Philosophy: Sound is the first form of human communication and music is the one international language. Music links the mind, body, and soul and allows us to better understand ourselves and the environment we live in. Music fundamentally serves as artistic communication, and the music teacher's primary role is to teach the language.
Get to know Alessandro Nocera
Alessandro Nocera - Currently serves as the Publicity Chair for the Ohio Collegiate Music Education Association. He is a fourth-year Music Education major from Delaware Ohio whose primary instrument is trumpet. He’s been a member of The Ohio State Marching Band (X-Row), Symphonic Band, Men’s Glee Club, Symphony Orchestra, Workshop Band, Gospel Choir and Trumpet Cheers. Along with being a School of Music Ambassador, Alessandro is also a member of the Student Advisory Counsel for the Marching Band, the Music Leadership Team for the Marching Band’s Summer Sessions, and a Counselor for the Ohio State Marching Band’s Summer Clinic. This past summer, he performed all over Brazil in the School of Music’s Brazilian Study Abroad Program.
