Get to know Alexandra Chase
Alexandra earned her Bachelor of Music degree from York College in Vocal Performance, with concentrations in operatic studies and music theory. She also received various scholarships, awards, grants, and recognition for her vocal performances at universities such as Bucknell University and Mount Saint Mary’s University. Further, Alexandra has studied with myriad renowned instructors, including internationally-acclaimed opera singer Dr. Karen Bureau and award-winning Carnegie Hall conductor and composer Dr. John Leavitt.
Performance Experience: Alexandra began performing vocal music as a young child, and studied voice, dramatics, and classical piano extensively throughout her adolescent and teenage years before receiving full scholarships to several colleges and universities when she was 16. She has starred in multiple productions across the East Coast, including The Magic Flute (Queen of the Night), Don Giovanni (Zerlina), The Last Five Years (Cathy), Songs For a New World (Lead Woman/Narrator), Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical (Lucy), and Anyone Can Whistle (Fay). She is also a regularly featured soprano soloist for Handel’s Messiah and Mozart’s Requiem in D Minor. Alexandra has performed in venues of all sizes including amphitheaters, auditoriums, and concert halls, sang in various locations across Spain and Portugal, and was offered a position with the Paris Opera for the 2020-2021 season.
Teaching Experience: If there’s one thing Alexandra loves, it is instructing people of all ages and backgrounds in voice, piano, and dramatics! She has worked with younger, beginning vocal students to older, professionally-trained vocalists to encourage them to enhance their musical abilities and passions (as well as keep their voices versatile, strong, and healthy). Alexandra also teaches piano, operatic and musical theatre dramatics, and music theory. Her background further includes serving as a choir director for myriad groups in Maryland and Pennsylvania, working for private and collegiate studios for 26 years, and teaching master classes on sight reading, music history, and proper stage form for emerging artists.

Alexandra (also known as Lexa) is a professional opera singer, vocal coach, choir director, musical theatre director, and classically-trained pianist. She has been sharing her love of music with others since her first performance at the age of eight, and became an award-winning vocalist and opera singer before her 18th birthday. While singing has been her passion for decades, she is also an accomplished vocal instructor, pianist, director, and dramatics coach. Alexandra has also enjoyed a career in music journalism, writing about (and sometimes singing with) her favorite artists and bands. Alexandra’s main goal as a vocal instructor is to inspire singers of every age, background, and level of expertise to enhance their creativity, challenge their abilities with positive learning experiences, and cultivate their talents for all present and future goals.
