About Ms. Alexia Valente
Get to know Ms. Alexia Valente
Alexia Valente began classical violin study following the Suzuki method
at the age of seven under Imelda Kaminsky. At age 12 she transitioned to
traditional Russian style study under Emma Maydanchik. In 2008 She joined the
Philharmonic West Suburban Youth Orchestra and served as their Concert Master
from 2010-2012. Alexia attended Belhaven University under the instruction of
Song Xie, and graduated Cum Laude with a BMus in Violin Performance.
Post-Graduation, she married her college sweetheart and stand partner, Andrew
Horton. Ms. Valente continues to work
professionally in music as a studio musician, teacher and performing violinist.
