Performance Experience: I have performed in many venues, with many types of groups, and many genres of music. I have been a wedding singer, performed at SPAC, as a soloist with local and regional choirs and as a guest soloist with bands, conducted choirs and bands, gig work with World Changers International in Atlanta, many church and school musical accompaniment performances, as well as "performing" weekly as an music director/pianist/organist/cantor.
Teaching Experience: I have been teaching since 1997. As a neuro-diverse person, I believe in tailoring lessons to the individual person, as we don't all learn the same way.
Teaching Philosophy: My goal is to instill a love of music, and a real understanding about what you are doing on/with your instrument. Learning how to play a song is one thing, and learning to become a musician is another.
Get to know Alison Moore
I have been teaching music lessons since before I even graduated high school myself. I'm never done learning myself, and I'm currently learning accordian. I am the music director for 3 churches in Columbia county, as well as a member of Albany Voices of Pride. I love all kinds of music, from classical to rap, from country to jazz. I enjoy being challenged to learn new materials myself, and I love teaching outside of the box. I truly believe in the power of making music, and in the wonderful opportunities that can come out of it. Music is a language that connects people throughout the world.
