Performance Experience: I have performed with the West Chester University Marching Band for four seasons on Flute, Mellophone, and Baritone; as well as with the West Chester University Basketball Band on Baritone for four seasons. I have also performed with the West Chester University Concert Band on Flute and Euphonium, for three years and also gave a solo recital on both Flute and Euphonium.
Teaching Experience: I have taught the Toms River High School East Marching Band as a woodwind and brass tech for the past four years, as well as the Upper Darby High School Marching Band as a woodwind tech for the past four years. I have also been working as a visual tech for a year at Toms River High School North. I taught at both the Elementary and Middle School levels in Pennsylvania.
Teaching Philosophy: I believe in meeting the student where they are at and then growing from there. While I am extremely passionate about music I believe in using music as an outlet to teach the whole person as opposed to just teaching the student as a musician. My overall goal with all of my students is to help build them into well rounded individuals and musicians.
Get to know Andrea Rouse
I have been a musician for 14 years with extensive playing experience on both the Euphonium and the Flute. I have also been teaching marching band in the Toms River NJ area for the past four years as well as in Delaware County PA for the past four years. I also am a classroom teacher during the school year teaching Middle School instrumental and general music.
