About Andrew Lenahan

Get to know Andrew Lenahan
I'm Andrew. I have been working with Music & Arts since January 2013. I have lived in the Stony Brook area all of my life. After high school, I went to SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music where I studided Music Education. Afterwards I went on to Five Towns College where I earned my Masters Degree in Music Education. Since then I have been a substitute teacher in the Three Village School District. Being a music educator, I play pretty much every instrument (with the exception of Trumpet...the bane of my existence.) My main instrumental loves are the Saxophone (Alto, Tenor and Baritone), and Clarinet. I also am an accomplished singer. I have sang in choirs all over the world, and have competed in a folk music competition in Arezzo Italy. I have also been heavily involved in a cappella music, having sung with both the Potsdam Pointercounts and the Stony Brook High C's.
My music related activities currently involve a lot of pit orchestra playing for community theaters around Long Island. Most notably, Productions Over the Rainbow, a three village based theater group comprised of students aged 6-20. Some of the shows that I have played with them include; The Pajama Game, City of Angels, Children of Eden and The Wizard of Oz.
So, if you need any help with anything instrumental or choral related stop in and say "Hello!"
