Get to know Andrew Locke
Andrew Locke is a professional music educator and trumpet player in the Arizona valley. He is currently studying at Arizona State University to become a band director and is expected to graduate with a Bachelor's of Music in Music Learning and Teaching in May of 2024.
Born and raised in North Carolina, Andrew moved to Arizona in the Fall of 2020 to further his musical studies and continue gaining teaching experience in public schools and private instruction. Throughout his 10 years of playing, he has gained a great deal of experience teaching and performing a variety of musical genres including wind band, jazz band, marching band, orchestra, British brass band, musicals, sacred music, and various forms of popular music. Andrew has performed as principal trumpet in the National Honor Band of America and in Carnegie Hall as principal trumpet in the Honors Performance Series Symphony Orchestra. He also helped lead his High School Marching Band as Brass Captain to secure a semifinalist spot in the Bands of America Grand National Marching Band Competition in Indianapolis.
Andrew's main goal as a music educator is to teach life lessons and make a lasting positive impact on the lives of today's youth. He would love to teach you or your child on any brass instrument here at Music & Arts!
