Education: BFA in Musical Theatre at Shenandoah Conservatory
Performance Experience: Annie has performed in musicals her entire life, including HAIR, 1776, A CHORUS LINE, THE WIZARD OF OZ and more. She has also performed in local gigs around Charleston, singing a variety of musical styles such as music from movie scores to live vocals for House and EDM music.
Teaching Experience: Annie has been teaching voice lessons for a year, teaching students of all ages, ranging from 5 to 60s. She has taken vocal pedagogy classes, learning about anatomy and function, and how it pertains to vocal quality and production.
Teaching Philosophy: My philosophy is that everyone can sing. As humans, we have been singing for centuries, and with a little work on technique, and a lot of passion, anyone can sing well. All voices are different, and therefore all students need a unique approach to technique, practice, and storytelling.
Get to know Annie Lesser
Originally from metro Atlanta, Annie grew up with a love for music and found herself performing for friends and family from a very young age. Taking her vocal education to a new level, Annie graduated from Shenandoah Conservatory in Virginia (more colloquially known as the “pop-rock school”) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre.
In addition to her professional collegiate training, Annie has been taking voice lessons and learning technique her whole life. She has a love for all music and styles, especially rock, folk, bluegrass, indie-pop, and musical theater.
