Get to know Anthony Bosco
Anthony holds a Master’s Degree in Guitar Performance from the Peabody Conservatory, but he started his musical journey as a self-taught rock guitarist. After joining a rock band and performing in the Philadelphia area, Anthony decided to start taking lessons to learn how to read music and later enrolled in music school at West Chester University. At WCU he studied classical guitar, music education, and music composition. Next, Anthony headed to Baltimore and enrolled in the classical guitar program at the prestigious Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University. Anthony received his Master’s Degree in Guitar Performance from Peabody in 2006 and now teaches Vocal Music K-5 full time for the Baltimore County Schools at an elementary school in Towson, MD. While at Peabody, Anthony also studied privately with the award winning virtuoso Ana Vidovic and performed in masterclasses for Ana Vidovic and Manuel Barrueco. One of Anthony’s original compositions for flute and guitar was published by SoundBoard Magazine in 2011. Anthony has been teaching music in schools and as a private guitar teacher for over 20 years. He has also directed numerous student concerts and recitals. When he is not busy teaching and performing, Anthony is a dedicated father of two children of his own. Anthony has been teaching guitar, ukulele, and mandolin at Music and Arts Greenbelt since the store first opened in 2016.
