Performance Experince: He has performed alongside notable artists and recorded multiple albums. His career in jazz music has included countless performances and recording sessions with independent artists as well as world-renowned jazz artists. He has performed regularly at many note-worthy venues including the Troubadour, the Hotel Cafe, the Roxy Theatre, the Monterey Jazz Festival, the Ravinia Jazz Festival, and the Java Jazz Festival in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Teaching Experience: California Institute for the Arts - 2019-2021 College of the Canyons - 2020-2021 LAMUSART - 2017 - 2021 Community Partners - 2016-2021 CAPSA (Community Arts Partnership) - 2018-2019 Positions at various institutions have included roles such as private bass teacher, private cello teacher, orchestra conductor, jazz band director, composition teacher, music theory teacher, and string technique coach.
Teaching Philosphy: I believe a great teacher seeks to understand their students on an individual level- acting as a guide to their students on their musical journey. A great teacher guarantees a safe and welcoming environment for students to practice their craft as well as ask questions pertaining to their learning and artistic development.

Get to know Ari Giancaterino

Ari Giancaterino is a professional bassist, composer and educator who has performed in the greater Los Angeles area for over a decade. He has received a Master’s degree in Jazz Bass Performance from California Institute of the Arts and a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies (Upright Bass) from the University of Southern California. Ari has performed with various artists across the Los Angeles and the world. Drawing inspiration jazz, funk, rock, and diverse world musics, he has created a unique style unto his own. He has performed alongside notable artists including Bennie Maupin, Scott Colley, Larry Koonse, Joe LaBarbera, David Roitstein, Darek Oles, Steve Lehman, Carmen Lundy, Steve Wilson, John Patitucci, Billy Childs, Rufus Reid,  Matt Wilson, Otmaro Ruiz and Josh Nelson to name a few. His career in jazz music has included countless performances and recording sessions with independent artists as well as world-renowned jazz artists. He is currently a music educator for Music & Arts, LAMUSART, Community Partners, California Institute for the Arts, and College of the Canyons.
