Performance Experience: I have performed professionally as a lead guitarist for a number of bands spanning multiple genres. I have performed in bands who have been in the same lineup as Lynyrd Skynyrd & The Marshall Tucker Band -- opened for Warrant, Bret Michaels, Lonestar, Chayce Beckham, Struggle Jennings, & Jelly Roll -- among others.

Teaching Experience: 3 years of private lessons teaching all ages/skill levels, & teaching multiple genres. No two students have been the same, so lessons are always tailored to best suit the individual and how they learn the best.

Teaching Philosophy: One of the greatest things in my life is being able to express myself with a guitar, and I want all of my students to experience that same joy & excitement of finding their "voice" with this instrument. I heavily encourage learning through creativity & figuring out what artists or genres they resonate with most and want to emulate. Having fun & fueling their passion for guitar, while also challenging them to become the best they can be are goals for every lesson.

Get to know Austin Brown

I was born and raised here in Maryland, and actually bought one of my first ever electric guitars at this very store in Germantown (and I still own it today). Originally a drummer, I picked up the guitar when I was around 8 years old and fell in love with it! After seeing the music video for "Paradise City" by my favorite band Guns N' Roses, I knew that playing the guitar in a band is what I wanted to do with my life! I played basketball competitively all the way through college, so I wasn't able to truly pursue music until after I graduated college and was officially done with basketball & my education. Since then, I've had the great privilege of performing with many extremely talented artists & achieving many of my "bucket list" goals with guitar.
