About Barb Miles

Barbara Miles ("Barb") is a lifetime pianist and vocalist, and is very excited to be teaching at the Music & Arts Center in Hagerstown.  She began taking piano lessons at the age of four and a half, and started competing at six.  She directed, played the organ and sang in her church choir from the age of six through thirty.  Barb has a Bachelor's Degree with a major in Piano Performance and a minor in Voice Performance from Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music in Winchester, Virginia, and a Master's Degree with a major in Piano Pedagogy from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.  She was a member of the Baltimore Choral Arts Society, the Syracuse Vocal Ensemble and the Wichita Chamber Choir.  Barb has taught piano and voice students from the ages of five through adults.  She is looking forward to developing both a piano and voice studio at Music & Arts, and is anxious to work with students of all ages to share in her love of music.
