Performance Experience: I have performed with many different types of ensembles from all types of venues, from universities to the Whiskey a Go Go.
Teaching Experience: I have been teaching music professionally for the past 7 years. I gained a lot of experience while completing my degree in General Music, with an emphasis on music education, at CSU Chico. I have taught one on one lessons, sectionals, and large classes, with students varying in age. I also had the opportunity to learn more about virtual teaching for the past 3 years.
Teaching Philosophy: My teaching philosophy is cognitive constructivism with an emphasis on scaffolding off previous knowledge. Everyone has experience with music, I love to help use that knowledge to get you to your musical goals.
Get to know Becca Solis
I have been playing saxophone since I was in elementary school. Throughout middle and elementary school I was able to tutor the younger students in music. At CSU Chico I was able to deepen this passion and understanding, teaching students of all ages. I have played in wind ensembles, jazz bands, marching band, rock bands with different instruments. I have played all woodwinds, bass guitar & double bass, and some brass instruments & piano in these ensembles. I love to teach woodwinds (especially saxophone), bass, piano, and music theory. I am currently attending Cal Poly Pomona for my single subject music credential & masters in teaching. Don't hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns, I can't wait to hear from you!
