I have always had a love for music. I was actively involved in music at church and school. I began taking piano lessons at the age of 5. I took lessons all the way through college. I sang every opportunity I could from church, community, to school. I participated in Georgia all-state chorus though out middle school and high school. I was actively involved in band as well. I played flute and percussion in concert and symphonic band in school. I performed in every musical theatre production and plays in school. I did my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Eduction with an emphasis in Voice and Piano with a minor in theatre at  Carson-Newman College.  At Carson-Newman, I studied voice with Dr. Ann Jones and piano with Dr. Thomas Milligan. As a voice student I competed in the NATS vocal competition. I performed with the Lyric Theatre performing music productions, Women’s Choral Group and A Capella Choir, the audition only choir who toured throughout the US and abroad. I did my graduate studies at Georgia State University in Music Education.
I have been currently teaching chorus in public school for 29 years currently. I star my 30th year this Fall, 2021. I have piano and voice lessons through my teaching career. I have taught 4 years of Elementary School General Music and Chorus, 8 years of Middle School Chorus & Theatre, and 17 years in High School Chorus and Theatre. I have performed with Various choirs through the metro Atlanta Area. I am a certified judge with GHSA for region and state one act competitions.
