About Blake Downs

Blake Downs is an experienced trombonist, teacher, and performer from Dallas, Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Music in trombone performance from Northern Arizona University located in Flagstaff Arizona. He is currently working towards a Master of Music in Trombone Performance at the University of Delaware. Blake has performed with a wide variety of musical ensembles. He has performed with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra, Stan Kenton Legacy Orchestra, Salt River Brass, several chamber music ensembles including Brass Quintet, Trombone Quartet, mixed chamber ensembles, and in a solo setting. Blake’s passion for music has driven him down many musical avenues including audio production, recording, and composition. He is very excited about the opportunity to work with students and bring up the next generation of musicians.
