Location: Garner, NC
Instructs: Music Theory, Piano
Education: M.M. Piano, Manhattan School of Music; M.M. Organ, Yale School of Music; B.M. Piano, University of Cape Town
Performance Experience: I've played solo piano and organ recitals across the United States and in my home country of South Africa. I love performing in cathedrals and small halls — every performing venue and experience is different, and I love sharing music with others.
Teaching Experience: I've been teaching for over a decade, and my students have ranged from 5 to 85 years old. I've held positions at other Music & Arts branches, at private music academies in New York, and have maintained a studio of private piano and organ students.
Teaching Philosophy: The primary idea behind my teaching philosophy is to meet the student where they are at. I believe in working with students' goals, and I tailor everything to their individual needs. No two students are the same, and I try my best to be a "different teacher" for every unique student. My main goals are to instill a love for music, and to make the student independent; if I'm doing my job right, they eventually won't need me!
