About Brandon Smith
Get to know Brandon Smith
My name is Brandon Smith, I am a multi-brass instrumentalist, pianist, organist, and composer residing in the Inland Empire. I have been playing Euphonium/Baritone for 11 years, Tuba for 7 years, Trombone for 8 years, and trumpet for 5 years. Throughout my university years, I have had the privilege to study with Scott Sutherland, Dr. Glenn Pickett, and Dr. Joshua Rodriguez. These faculty members have inspired me to become the musician I am today. When I’m not practicing my horns, I write music for film, and for ensembles such as orchestras and concert bands. Most recently, “Gleaming Stars,” being premiered by the CBU Wind Ensemble, and “Colors of Elixir,” being premiered by the CBU Symphony Orchestra. My musical inspirations come from Bach, Hans Zimmer, John Williams, and John Powell. My goal as a musician is to teach and to perform, and one day I’ll become a Hollywood film composer.
