My name is Brian Goin and I believe anyone can learn to play an instrument for pure enjoyment of music.
What: Teach Piano, Guitar, Bass, Ukulele and Drums
Who: People from 4 years old to 99 years old
Years of experience: 25+ years
Where I teach: Rainier Community Center(Monday and Saturday), Music and Arts Burien(Tuesday & Thursday), Privately(Wednesday and Friday)
How many: currently teaching 50+ students
Special needs: I teach autistic students on all instruments.
My goal: My life’s drive is to help people to access and enjoy music through performing on an instrument of their choice. To help people attain the ability to sightread piano music, a skill that is becoming rare. I love to watch my students pick up a piece of sheet music and play it with ease.
Recently created a pilot program for all of Seattle Community centers for music lessons online.
Taught music for Trinity Life Center High School and Elementary. Assisted Franklin High School Drama with their Musicals the past 6 years by playing piano and training students in sound and theater technology.
Music Director for Celtic Cross Presbyterian Church, First Covenant Church of The Nazarene, and Epworth United Methodist Church.
Music Accompanist: Play piano at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Seatac Sunday Mornings. I also play for weddings, funerals and special events.
Accolades: Received the Louis Armstrong award for Improvisation in High School
One of my students was awarded a job singing and perfroming Piano with Disney.
