Get to know Catherine McFarland
Catherine McFarland has been a violinist for over 25 years, with 14 years of study in the Suzuki method and 9 years as a private instructor.
Her approach to music lessons for violinists and violists addresses a variety of skill levels and abilities including music theory, ear training, and improvisational composition.
Catherine studied violin at the university level and went on to become the lead violinist in the Bay Area Community Church. With a musical career that began by competing for six years with NAC, four years in national competition with BNYC, three years in CYSO, and has since gone on to include hundreds of written and performed pieces and a Christmas EP, Catherine is equipped to meet any new student at their level, and looks forward to encouraging them to develop their skills
