Performance Experience: Cathy is a professional songwriter, performer, multi-instrumentalist and recording artist. She and her husband, Michael Grady (songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist) perform their original Americana and Blues music as the duo Grady Miller at venues nationwide.
Teaching Experience: Cathy has been teaching private music lessons for 32 years. She has also coached orchestra/music programs in the Brunswick, Cleveland Heights, and Los Angeles school districts. She has extensive experience with students of all ages, having taught children as young as 3 to adults in their 90's.
Teaching Philosophy: I feel as though teaching music is one of the biggest ways that I can contribute to my community as a whole, as well as to the well-being of individual people. When you learn music, you're doing something that is just for you; a way to express yourself beyond emotions and just words. For kids, you are offering an outlet or even just an experience. For adults, you may be fulfilling a lifelong dream to be able to create music. With a strong technical framework, you can play anything.

Cathy Towns Grady is a songwriter, vocalist, violinist, violist, guitarist, and fiddler with a wide range of styles and influences. She holds a degree in Viola Performance from The Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University, and blends classical technique with blues, folk, Irish and country to create her own unique style.
Her powerful alto voice commands an audience and her soulful songwriting brings the crowd in close. She has been playing for more than 40 years, and teaching for 32 years. Many of her students have gone on to pursue careers in music themselves.
