Teaching Philosophy: I make it my mission to teach students the way they learn, and adapt my lessons accordingly. My primary goal as a teacher is to instruct my students on effective practice and getting the most out of their personal practice time.
Get to know Chiara Head
I am a graduate of George Mason University, where I earned my Bachelors degree in flute performance. I’m primarily a flutist, having first picked up the instrument in 2009, and started teaching when I was still in college. I also teach piano and violin. I’m my spare time, I sometimes dabble in composing for orchestra or chamber ensembles. My study of composition and music theory often means I’ll include that knowledge in lessons, as I believe that context and background knowledge leads to a greater understanding of and appreciation for the study of music overall.
