Get to know Chima Enwere
Chima was California-born and North Carolina-raised. He earned a Master of Music Degree with a Concentration in Keyboard Performance Specialist & Pedagogy from East Carolina University (ECU). The three areas of focus for his graduate degree were collaborative piano, piano performance, and organ. Because he studied 3 different keyboard areas, he has several key teachers including Drs. Catherine Garner, John O’Brien, (piano), Andrew Scanlon, David Arcus (organ), and Paola Savvidou (pedagogy). He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music with Music Industry Emphasis—Jazz & Commercial Track from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP) and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship from the UNCP School of Business. During his time at UNCP, he studied with Drs. Jon & Beth Maisonpierre and Dr. Seung-Ah Kim.
Because of his diverse training, he has a plethora of experience in various performance settings. In his 20+ years of playing, he has performed as a solo pianist, collaborative pianist, pit musician in musicals, marching band, jazz ensemble/combo pianist, church keyboardist/organist, and chamber ensemble member. He has also performed throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, and in well-known venues including Disney World and Carowinds. Chima is the collaborative pianist for the Fine Arts Department at Fayetteville Technical Community College. In the senior year of his undergraduate studies, he performed with the UNCP Wind Ensemble because he was one of the winners of the annual UNCP Concerto Competition. Chima's biggest performance to date, however, was performing among the opening acts for Katy Perry for Taco Bell’s Annual FRANMAC Convention in 2021!
He is the youngest active member of the Fayetteville Piano Teachers’ Association (FPTA). The FPTA is a qualified body of piano pedagogues who teach music through the piano to foster the cultural and artistic aspirations of the surrounding community. The organization actively hosts events like student competitions, festivals, recitals, and masterclasses. He is also a member of the MTNA.
Chima is the CEO/Director of Music Together of Fayetteville LLC. Music Together of Fayetteville offers the early childhood music program Music Together®. Since 1987, Music Together has introduced millions of children, parents, and teachers around the world to the powerful benefits of having music in their lives. Today, classes for children ages birth through grade two are found around the world!
