About Chris Kosterman

Chris Kosterman is the former (and first ever) Director of Fine Arts at Rockwall ISD. He retired in 2020 after serving Rockwall ISD for 20 years. He was the former Assistant Band Director at Cain Middle School, Associate Band Director at Rockwall Heath High School, and the Director of Bands at Rockwall High School. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music degree, both from the former East Texas State University now Texas A&M University Commerce. Chris played bass clarinet and clarinet professionally in the DFW area before becoming a band director. 

Kosterman also played guitar in the Paris High School Jazz Band and it was on guitar that he won his first college scholarship to Paris Junior College. He was mostly self taught, but over the last six years he has studied with the late Ken Wheeler and is currently studying with Chuck Pangburn.
