Education: Christian received his B.A. in Music Education from Mars Hill University in the spring of 23'.
Performance Experience: Christian has performed with many ensembles throughout the area, including the Horizon Brass Quintet, Pyramid Brass, NC All-State Orchestra, and the MHU Jazz Ensemble. He is currently playing with the MHU Wind Symphony and Brass Ensemble as an alumni.
Teaching Experience: Christian is a new teacher. He taught band & choir at Madison High School for his student teaching and has served as a high brass tech for high schools in the area.
Teaching Philosophy: Christian's teaching style focuses primarily on the fundamentals of playing, music theory, interpretation, and musicality. All ages and skill levels are welcome! Christian has experience preparing students for auditions (All-District/County/State) and encourages them to bring their own material into lessons! Students will be challenged if desired, but goals will always be realistic and attainable. Every student should leave their lesson feeling confident in their ability to reach their goal.
Get to know Christian
Hi I'm Christian! I am a native to Asheville and am a new music educator. My primary instrument is trumpet, and I have been playing since I was 11yo. My area of focus is classical music (especially chamber music), but I am also proficient in jazz. When I was in high school my director gave me the opportunity to take private lessons, and looking back I credit everything to that experience. I hope that I can serve my students by giving them that push they need to blossom on their instrument.
