About Christina Angle

Get to know Christina Angle
I have been a musician since I joined the 5th grade band on my alto saxophone (over 17 years ago!). Ever since, I have fallen in love with music. Throughout high school I joined every different band I could be a part of; which ended up being 9 in total! At that time I also ran track and cross country.
I went to Illinois State University to study music education. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher but by my freshman year of high school, I connected that I could TEACH music! How perfect!! Again, I joined every band and extra teaching experience I could find. I worked with ages preK- adults in classroom settings, rock band settings, musical settings, and community performance settings. My senior year I joined an organization called the Penguin Project. This group puts on JR Broadway shows each year with a cast of kids to adults with disabilities and their one-to-one mentors who are typically junior high and high school students volunteering their time. I absolutely fell in love with the music director role with this organization and have stayed with them for 5 years.
Outside of music and teaching I love to stay active! I play roller derby, ultimate frisbee, rock climbing, yoga, and running. When I'm tuning into my nerdy side I enjoy champagnes of D&D (dungeon and dragons), Magic (the card game), reading fantasy novels, and completing challenging puzzles with a twist!
I am a very active and sociable person and love to get involved with new and crazy things in order to meet people. I can’t wait to get to know you and connect over a love of music!
