Get to know Christina Sack
Christina knows that every child has the potential to excel in music, and has been tailoring each of her lessons to the needs, interests, and aspirations of her violin and piano students since 2017.
Christina's varied performing experiences make her a versatile musician and educator. A violin student of Dr. Solomiya Ivakhiv, Christina has performed with the UConn Symphony Orchestra, the UConn Collegium Musicum, and the Osiris Quartet. She has performed as a soloist in the 2021 UConn Concerto Competition, and in masterclasses with Sean Wang (2020) and Irina Muresanu (2019). Christina has also been a featured violinist in pit orchestras for musical theater productions since 2013, including The Addams Family (2022), Les Miserables (2018), Into the Woods (2017), and The Sound of Music (2015). Christina enjoys performing music of various styles, as seen in her appearances with The Piano Guys (2018, Jorgenson Center for the Arts) and the Rustic Ramblers (2017, Fredonia, NY).
Christina has provided piano accompaniment for singers and instrumentalists in collegiate performances and competitions since 2018.
A rising conductor and educator, Christina has served as the Resident Conductor of the UConn Chamber Orchestra (2021-2022) and the Assistant Director of the Southington Festival Chorale (2016-2018). She has taught in elementary and secondary music classrooms in Glastonbury, Guilford, and West Hartford, CT.
Christina holds a B.A. in Music and a B.S. in Music Education from the University of Connecticut ('22) and is currently working towards her M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction.
