Teaching Experience: For over 25 years I have been providing private instruction on various instruments while keeping lessons fun and insuring continued progress towards student's desired goals.
Teaching Philosophy: My teaching philosophy is that a student who is having fun and who has their preferences considered, will be more invested and committed to their craft.
Get to know Christine Matte
Hello. I’m Christine Matte, I live in North Carolina, USA. I received a BA in Psychology with emphasis in Music from Gulf Coast University and a MS in Clinical Psychology from Capella University. I have taught private music lessons for 25+ years. I teach piano, flute, guitar, voice, ukulele, and song writing. I enjoy writing and teaching multi-genre pieces of music of all levels, beginning at age 3. I use a versatile teaching approach that matches the goals of the students and parents while integrating proper technique and theory into each lesson. Due to my psychology background I specialize in teaching children with learning differences and strive to keep music exciting and fun. I have enjoyed watching invested, talented students learn dedication to their craft and take their musical kills as far as they desire. No one ever regrets learning a musical instrument because it provides each student with an emotional outlet, a healthy hobby and sometimes a profession.
