Get to know Christopher Henry
I have been playing trumpet for about twenty-five years. I came to Greensboro in 1998 to attend Greensboro College as a Music Education major. While at Greensboro, I had Anita cirba and Ken Wilmot as my trumpet teachers. I also worked with Benji Springs in his role as band director. While in college, I had the opportunity to start the band program at a charter school in Rockingham County. I have taught in Guilford County for fifteen years at Northeast Middle school and am currently the band and orchestra director at Jamestown Middle School. I have had a private studio for about ten years in the Jamestown area. I perform weekly with the praise and worship band, Decided, at Jamestown Presbyterian Church, where I play guitar, bass, and of course, trumpet. I have worked wih the Ragsdale High School Marching tigers for about fifteen years as music tech, brass tech, drill/show designer, and composer/arranger. My wife, Elena, and I have three daughters, two in High School and one soon to graduate from Greensboro College. I am excited about the opportunity I have teaching at Music & Arts.
