Education: In addition to having taken many specialized fiddle classes, taught by Master Fiddle Players, at the John C. Campbell Folkschool, I have earned two Bachelor's Degrees with Honors, in Political Science and Economics, from The University of Georgia.
Performance Experience: I have played at many ContraDances across the SouthEastern United States.
Teaching Experience: I have been teaching professionally since 2012, to people of all age groups. From kids in orchestra to adults picking up their violin after years of not playing, to seniors who want to learn how to play during retirement.
Teaching Philosphy: I teach my students the tools they need in order to answer their questions about playing and reading music. My two goals for every lesson are to learn and have fun!

Get to know Christopher Liakos

Chris Liakos has been playing violin since 1998, when he started in 6th grade Orchestra. As a teenager, he learned about fiddle music, and has loved playing it since!

 
Chris regularly plays fiddle for ContraDances around the SouthEast. He's played in Spartanburg, Greenville, Columbia, Charleston, Atlanta, Charlotte, Asheville, Knoxville and more.
 
Chris has been teaching for 10 years, and has loved being a part of the Music and Arts family since 2014. Chris teaches violin, viola, and beginner-cello. He helps people of all ages to learn classical, folk, pop, and church music
