She is currently employed as a Percussion Instructor of the Bristol Central High School Percussion Ensemble, which has 5 live performances or concerts each school year. With a strong focus on the comfort of the student, Claire enjoys exposing musicians to new and interesting genres of repertoire, as well as absorbing the kind of music that her students enjoy singing and playing. Her teaching style involves a tailored and personal approach, often involving humor and outside-the-box techniques for thinking about rhythm, timbre, harmony, and intonation. Each and every person conceptualizes sound as art differently, so Claire works with student to discover and cultivate those unique relationships with music, while working towards technical excellence.
