Performance Experience: Clayton White has been a performer for 12 years. He started performing 2 years into his playing where he would play live in coffee houses and bars in South New Jersey with his father, who is a singer songwriter. After he was accepted to Berklee College of Music, Clayton expanded his performance experience by playing in venues in Boston and in music halls such as the Berklee Performance Center. He is currently in a band called Bitter Creek, a southern rock group, and plays in venues across MA.
Teaching Experience: Clayton White has been a guitar instructor for 8 years. He teaches students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, within the genres of primarily rock, blues, and pop. He also teaches individuals with special needs, in which he has 2 years of internship experience teaching guitar for individuals with disabilities.
Teaching Philosphy: I enjoy working with players of all ages, backgrounds, and levels of experience. The guitar is a challenging instrument to learn in the beginning, so I try to make my lessons enjoyable and fun, especially for children. If they view the guitar as a chore to play, then they will not progress, so I try to make the learning experience as helpful and motivational as possible. I focus on a variety of techniques in my lessons and adapt the learning environment to the needs of my students.
