Get to know Colin Cahill
Colin Cahill is a Seattle-based jazz saxophonist. He first became serious about jazz at Roosevelt High School where he studied with Craig Flory, Mark Taylor, and Steve Treseler. He then attended Oberlin College and Conservatory where he recieved degrees in both Chemistry and Jazz Saxophone performance. There he studied with one of the great masters, Gary Bartz, who continues to inspire him today.
Colin has been heavily influenced by saxophonists such as John Coltrane, Sonny Stitt and Charlie Parker as well as modern creators like Anomalie, Jacob Collier and Braxton Cook.
Early on in his musical journey, Colin was influenced by interdisciplinary study, the idea that all types of learning are inherently connected. The music we will learn in our lessons is as connected to Physics as it will be to poetry and art.
