About Corin O'Brien

Corin began as a self-taught saxophone player at the age of 11 years old. With many early academic achievements in hand, such as his multiple performances with the San Bernardino County Honor Jazz Band and California All-State Jazz Ensemble, he was offered a 4-year music scholarship to California State University of Fullerton to which he received his Bachelor of Music. Although well-trained as a jazz musician, Corin has also taken part in many classical and marching ensembles. With an ever-growing collection of instruments such as saxophone, trumpet, piano, bass, flute, clarinet, violin, shamisen and more, he is also constantly striving to expand his musical knowledge and experiences. Having studied under the esteemed Bill Cunliffe and Damon Zick at CSUF and even gaining musical recognition from famous trumpet player Wynton Marsalis at the 2022 Rudin Jazz Championship, Corin has proved himself to be a well-rounded and motivated musician.
