About Craig Winston

I'm a life long guitarist with a diverse interest in many styles. Growing up I played lead guitar in rock and metal bands while I studied classical and jazz music in school. I attended several semesters at Berklee College of Music before studying jazz guitar with Dan Balmer and Mike Pardew in Portland, OR. I've performed with an array of ensembles, toured nationally. In Chicago I joined the Dead Superheroes Orchestra, a Bowie-esque rock band with a string quartet, and played guitar in the local musical theater scene. In Denver I play lead guitar for the Neo Classical Metal band Thy Shade.

In 2019 I returned to a serious pursuit of Classical Guitar, under the guidance of Dr. Patrick Sutton. I'll complete my BFA in may before attending Lamont School of Music in fall 2021 for my Masters studies in classical guitar.
