Performance Experience: Vast... Coffee Houses, college parties, beach clubs, nightclubs, hotels, restaurants, huge block party events, tours to various Hawaiian Islands, tour to New Years Eve shows in Tahiti, weddings, etc. etc...

Teaching Experience: On and off I've taught guitar for over 30 years. I've developed and decided on focusing on the music aspect in it's purest form. I consider it a holistic approach.

Teaching Philosophy: My teaching style is to teach music using the guitar as the instrument. I find out from each person where they are in their musical journey and strive to meet them at that place. Beginners learn the fretboard, how notes are related and combined and progress to chord combinations. More advanced players receive a different approach of extended music. My goal is to give the student a foundation to go forth and discover playing the music they desire,

Get to know Dan Broussard

While guitar is my main instrument, I had an opportunity to join a big band in San Francisco playing bass guitar. It was reading work and I dug in and got to the place of becoming the person on-call for 5 different orchestras. That opportunity became valuable as I moved to Hawaii and auditioned for the bass position of a popular Latin Salsa band. My years with the orchestra paid off and gave me the experience to hold the bottom down on even the most energetic Salsa songs. Please note, the work I did to learn music with the guitar aided tremendously with my work with the orchestras and Latin band

The music I learned throughout my years continues to push me on to continue developing more. Although there are definite foundational aspects, music continues to expand possibilities. It remains a wonderful journey and am glad I'm along for the ride.
