DAN LEVIN

Rock, (Classic, Punk, Alternative), Funk, R & B, Metal, Reggae, Rap

I’ve been drumming intensively since I started playing as a teenager.  I’ve played in three bands including guest appearances with Carven Jones in Tempe AZ.  During high school and college I was part of DC’s legendary Belize-influence(pre-COVID)d Andrew Cacho African Drummers and Dancers in Washington DC. I performed (pre-COVID) at “Old Town” Jam Night in Frederick MD.

I’ve taught drumming professionally and dozens of people verbally on technique, equipment and getting to the next level, at the 9:30 Club and other venues. As a concert-goer and music collector (400 records plus hundreds of CDs and tapes) whose knowledge spans all genres, I’m happy to share my knowledge of music, hardware, drumming techniques, practice methods and strategies that underlie them.

I graduated from Georgetown Day School (DC) and have a BFA in Painting from Arizona State – Tempe.  When not drumming I’m an artist working in acrylic, graphite, colored pencil, watercolor, ink / chalk, wood, mixed media, and  photography.  I  sell work through my website (http://www.artwanted.com/dhl ), on commission and at shows. This gives me deeper insights to drumming and music.

I’m excited to play with new people no matter their age or capabilities, and to teach them what I know.
