About Daniel Cavazos
Get to know Daniel Cavazos
Daniel Cavazos is a young cellist and educator who grew up in Georgetown, Texas. Beginning in 2018, he moved to San Marcos to pursue a study at Texas State University under the esteemed tutelage of Dr. Karla Hamelin, and is set to graduate in Spring 2022.
While attending university, Daniel has performed with ensembles including the Texas State Symphony Orchestra, Texas State Chamber Orchestra, and Texas State Cello Studio. He has also collaborated with other local cellists in duets, as well as had performance opportunities with the Texas State Flute Studio, and Chorale Chamber Orchestra. Daniel is an active educator, teaching with the Texas State String Project as a group class and private lesson instructor.
Daniel is currently a member of several professional organizations including the American String Teachers Association: Texas State Chapter, Texas Music Educators Association, and Suzuki Association of the Americas. He has presented at the National ASTA Convention and attended workshops at TMEA and ASTA. Daniel has registered training for Suzuki Book 1-3 and Every Child Can training emphasizing a pivotal belief that music can and should be accessible to all students.
