About Daniel Collins
Get to know Daniel Collins
Greetings!
I first started playing trumpet as a fourth grade band student in 1969 and have since learned to play and teach all brass instruments in all musical genres. At the University of Delaware, I was a soloist in the Stage Band as well as a founding member of the Gamelan Ensemble. Since then, I have performed as a classical soloist and as a member of numerous jazz, rock, and concert bands throughout the DE-PA-NJ area. I have also served as a high school band director and as an adjudicator for Delaware Senior All-State Band. Recently, I earned an M.M. in Jazz Studies degree from Rowan University.
I have taught privately as a brass instructor since 2002, both in-person and online. I have been privileged to help my students successfully audition for Delaware Jr. and Sr. All-State Band, Cab Calloway School of the Arts, and college instrumental music programs. However, my greatest source of pride is being able to help students of all ages develop their brass playing abilities and reach their full musical potential.
