Get to know Daniel Goodmond
Daniel Goodmond currently serves as Band Director at Griffin High School. He is currently within his 9th year of teaching. He started playing trombone in the 7th grade and has been involved in bands ever since. He graduated from Florida A&M University with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and received his Master's Degree from the University of South Carolina.
He has helped multiple students back all district and all region bands, as well as helped students audition for and receive multiple scholarships to several colleges. He believes all students can learn, and is there to lend help and expertise always. He is a competent, skilled trombone player, and has experience with all brass instruments and techniques.
Being a high school band director also gives him experience with various woodwind instruments and techniques too. His philosophy to approaching lessons are: 'I know what a band director wants their model student to play and sound like.' He has experience within various genres of band such as: jazz, concert band, solo literature, and others.
