About Daniel Kapsalis
Get to know Daniel Kapsalis
Daniel Kapsalis is a native of Long Island. He began his musical training at the age of 9, when he first picked up the violin. Daniel has performed with various professional orchestras throughout New York State including the Sound Symphony, West Islip Symphony, Catskill Symphony, Schenectady Symphony, and the Woodstock Symphony Orchestras.
Daniel is a classically trained violinist, violist, cellist, and bassist. He's performed with youth orchestras, pit orchestras and other ensembles before and during his studies at SUNY Oneonta, graduating in 2015 with honors in Music Industry. Daniel is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Music Education Studies with University at Buffalo.
In 2013, Daniel served as a student teaching intern with the Brookhaven Arts & Music Summer Program in Long Island, where he instructed beginner violin, viola and cello students how to develop correct bow hold, accurate finger placement, proper posture, and intonation. Daniel also worked alongside professional instructors on teaching young musicians the Suzuki method during his internship.
Daniel has been teaching violin, viola, cello, upright bass and piano in the Capital Region since 2016, and he is experienced in basic violin maintenance and repairs. Daniel is also a classical composer, and wrote works primarily for strings and piano.
