About Daniel Zellers
Get to know Daniel Zellers
Hi, my name is Daniel Zellers. Whether through teaching or performance, I enjoy sharing my love of music with others. I was blessed to be given the opportunity to learn music at a very early age, starting piano lessons at age 6. Two years later I began studying the violin which has become an ever present joy. I went on to study music in college graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music from Carson-Newman University in 2017. After graduating, I began working as a violinist with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra as well as several other regional orchestras.
As a teacher, I started while I was in high school and have continued to work with students ever since. It is always gratifying to play a part in students experiencing the "ah-ha" moment when their hard work and dedication show dividends in achieving musical milestones.
Originally born in Tennessee, I recently moved to North Carolina in 2020. Growing up in the foothills of the Smokies, I have enjoyed the hobbies of hiking, fishing, and white water rafting. I've even worked as a raft guide, taking complete strangers down rapids that left us old friends! One of the most memorable places I've performed was on the steps of an old log cabin in the middle of the Smoky Mountain National Park. The sound of a Scottish tune echoing off the supreme stillness of the majestic forest is a memory I will never forget. This is the power of music. It is a language filled with hope, an individual expression both intensely personal and widely communal. I warmly look forward to exploring this language together.
