About Danielle Wood

Get to know Danielle Wood
My name is Danielle Wood. I began learning the violin at the age of eight. I took lessons consistently throughout elementary, middle, high school, and college. In May of 2021, I graduated from The Crown College with a Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education with an emphasis on music. I am currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Music Education from Liberty University online.
Every year since beginning the violin, I have performed in recitals and string ensembles. In high school, I held first chair of the second violin section in the Charles County Youth Orchestra. I have also played frequent violin solos and duets in church throughout high school and college. Throughout all four years of college, I was a member of the Crown College String Quartet. We performed regularly in special services, venues, and weddings.
In my teaching approach, I like to focus on building theory, musicality, practice, and performance skills that equip the student to continually grow in their ability. I prefer to use the Essential Elements teaching Method along with Workbook for Strings for theory practice. I also like to incorporate the Suzuki violin school books for performance preparation.
